Section Supervisor

Location: Northern NSW and Byron Bay surroundings

Industry: Horticulture & Farm Services (Farming, Animals & Conservation)

Salary: $65,000 p/a plus 10% superannuation

Hours: Full time role • 38 hours per week

Start Date: A.S.A.P.

  • This opportunity will suit an experienced Section Supervisor who can demonstrate experience with agroforestry systems, knowledge of plants and experience in training and supervising operators.

  • Report any crop treatment to the responsible agronomist or agriculture specialists and farm’s general managers;

    Take notes and keep records of growth of plants and production in general;

    Supervise and manage the check list of the machinery at the work sites and report it to maintenance officer or mechanics;

    Report any changes or improvements on planting, planning and management following and stablished plan

    Follow the design and planting plan including soil preparations and fertilizers as written in the documents

    Follow daily, weekly, and monthly standard procedures, most importantly checking irrigation plan;

    Planning daily tasks according to weather conditions;

    Follow instructions from agriculture technicians, agronomists, and farm’s general managers for planting, harvesting, and watering requirements;

    Ensure quality of production through daily checks and monitoring in the gardens; Keep records of farm’s crops and production for the upcoming seasons;

    Double check the group of plants that can work together in time and space for specific locations and biomes accordantly with the specialist;

    Understating the ecophysiology of plants for the restoration of ecosystems and food production;

    Manage planting and maintenance of the gardens;

    Coordinate harvest days;

    Supervise the volunteer program;

    Manage public guided walks and visitor queries.

  • Certificate IV or equivalent AND minimum of 1-year work experience in this position.

    Demonstrated achievement in managing, motivating, and leading a team.

    Willing to live in regional area (Northern NSW)
